17th Annual Memorial Day Soccer Tournament 2008

Join teams from all over the Northwest for the Memorial Day Soccer

Tournament in Springfield, Oregon.  Last year nearly 140 teams participated

In a weekend of soccer fun and competition.  Play at some of Oregon’s best

soccer sites: Thurston High School, Thurston Middle School and the

Morrisette Fields.  The Memorial Day Tournament is open to any qualified team and actively recruits Premier II, Classic I and below level teams. 

Each team plays 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. 

Games begin at 8:00am daily.  Every effort is made to give traveling teams

late morning starts on Saturday. 

 

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

 

General Qualification

U.S.Y.S.A. or AYSO affiliated teams only.

 

Age Qualification

Conformance to age limitations and proof of age is required for the tournament.  U.S.Y.S.A. identification cards are acceptable proof.  Teams will be designated by their oldest player.  Current 2007/2008 age

classifications will be used.

 

Rosters

Roster must be turned in no later than May 21, 2008.  Rosters can be amended up to the start of a

team’s first game.

 

Equipment / Uniforms

Shin guards are required.  Teams should be prepared to provide alternate uniforms in case of

duplicate colors.

 

Awards

Plaques will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as well as consolation championship winners.  Medals will be given to players on 1st and 2nd place teams.

 

Game Ball

U-12 and under will use a size 4 ball. 

U-13 and older will use a size 5 ball.

 

Length of Game

Games will consist of two halves of 30 minutes

with a five minute half time break.  All games tied at the end of regulation will go directly to a shootout at the designated shootout field.  Field marshals may alter the length of any game due to weather or

adverse field conditions.
