Basketball Rules small logo

6th, 7th and 8th Grade QUAD

Games are played according to the Official Basketball Rulebook of the National Federation of High School Rules. Below are modifications and clarifications adopted by KIDSPORTS.

SUBSTITUTION RULES:

Minimum playing time depends on the number of players present at the game.  10+ players=8 minutes per player per game.  9 players=10 minutes per player per  game.  Less than 9 players=12 minutes per player per  game.  In addition, every player present must have an entry in both the 1st and 2nd halves of the game

Full Court Press restriction:

Full-court man-to-man or zone pressing is allowed. Back court pressing of an in-bound play is not allowed when the defensive team is ahead by 20 points or more, although transition defense in backcourt will still be allowed.

Uniforms:

Clarification: Undershirts must be a color similar to the uniform shirt.
