Girls Lacrosse (3rd-8th Grade)

Register Now, Deadline has been extended to Mar. 8th!

Teams will be forming for girls in grades 3 - 8 for the Spring 2013 season. All skill levels welcome.

Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in the United States. Youth participation in the sport has grown over 500% since 1999. The Eugene area has several high school girls' lacrosse teams. The UO also has varsity and club women's lacrosse.

The sport of lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse--the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. Girls lacrosse equipment includes a stick, eyeguards, and a mouthpiece. There is no checking at any youth level.

Girls' Youth Lacrosse teams are determined by grade level: 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. The ten week season includes practices 2 times per week with a focus on skills, scrimmages, and sportsmanship. Round robin and tournament style games are planned for Eugene, Portland and Sisters. Loaner equipment (sticks and eyeguards) is available.
