COACHING 101
Thank you for signing up to
coach a KIDSPORTS Team! You are
invaluable and
we
appreciate your commitment. We are here
to support you and your team, so please let
us
know what we can do to help make your coaching experience a great one!
ü Fill out a Coach
Background Check form once every school year.
Check with your
area Sports Manager to verify that you have been listed as the
coach. If you wish to coach additional
sports throughout the school year, contact your Sports Manager to let them know.
ü Pick up your equipment
from our Eugene KIDSPORTS office before practices start. When you pick up your equipment, you will
sign up for a time to pick up your team’s
uniforms.
ü Attend the Coach
Organizational meeting to sign up for practices, pick up a rule book and packet
of other helpful information. Coach
training opportunities can be found on the meeting agenda, or by checking with
your Sports Manager.
ü Call all of the kids on
your roster as soon as you have signed up for practices.
ü At the first practice,
hand out a sheet with the schedule of your upcoming practices. You will also want to inform the team of your
expectations and any team rules.
ü Attend the Coach
Scheduling meeting to pick up your game schedule and sign up for practices for the
remainder of the season. Your coach
packet at this meeting will contain envelopes for your team’s pictures and a
schedule of available picture times and dates through Moderne
Studio.
ü Call Moderne
Studio and schedule the time for your team pictures.
ü Enjoy the season!
ü At the end of the season,
promptly return your equipment to the Eugene KIDSPORTS office.
