Tiny Tumblers

KIDSPORTS Tiny Tumblers!

KIDSPORTS is teaming up with the USGA, The U.S. Gymnastics Academy here in Eugene, to provide an exciting new program for our entry level age group.

“Tiny Tumblers” is an activity for children aged 3 to 5 years to learn age appropriate physical, cognitive, and psychological benefits that are in line with the KS philosophy of promoting “Physical Literacy” for our children.

Physical Literacy speaks to age appropriate opportunities for children in grades K – 5 to develop the FUNdamental skills of movement and sport.  With these basics children learn to move their body with confidence and in control and have a foundation for life, from which to pursue both competitive and recreational sports and activities.

At this level (3 – 5) the child is mentally capable of participation without a parent.  Tiny Tumbler classes will focus on the basics of gymnastics, emphasizing the development of positive social and emotional skills, independent thinking, body awareness, relationships and directionality.

In addition to learning rolls, basic jumps, hops and body positions, students will learn the importance of taking turns, following directions, and being respectful to others in a fun and safe atmosphere.  Tiny Tumblers will receive their instruction from professional gymnastic instructors.

Classes will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Session starts March 2nd ending on March 18th, 2010.

Cost of Registration for 6 sessions: $45.00 per child
