Basketball Coaches Clinic

 

KIDSPORTS is holding a free basketball coaching clinic for all basketball coaches on Monday, Dec. 12th, 2016 at 6pm at Roosevelt Middle School (500 E24th Ave., Eugene, OR 97405). 

The KS Coaching clinic will feature keynote speakers Allison and Mike McNeill.  This clinic is a must see for all youth, high school, and club basketball coaches.  Allison and Mike will deliver age appropriate practice plans, skill development, decision making breakdowns, modified games and a coaching philosophy and pathway that provides sequential progressions in helping coaches, players, and teams to develop the fundamental skills, concepts, and principles of play needed for basketball excellence. 

This dynamic coaching duo are well known throughout the world not only for their role in leading the Canadian Women's National Basketball Team to an 8th place finish at the 2012 London Olympics, but as importantly, for their work in developing a pathway to basketball excellence for Canada Basketball's Youth Long Term Development (YLTD) Program. 

The Canadian YLTD under Allision and Mike has catapulted both male and female Canadian basketball players to national, international, and professional excellence and success.  Allison and Mike have given numerous coaching clinics throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.  The combined experience of these two coaches ranges over 60+ years of teaching, coaching, mentoring, and excelling:

 

Allison McNeill:

* 2012 Olympic Games – Top 8 finish. (Canada had not qualified in 12 years) 

* 2011 FIBA America Olympic qualifying tournament – 3rd place 

* 2011 Pan American Games 

* 2010 World Championships – 12th place 

* 2009 FIBA America World Qualification tournament – 3rd place 

* 2007 Pan American Games in Rio, Brazil – 4th place 

* 2006 World Championships – 10th place finish 

* 2005 FIBA America World Qualification tournament – 3rd place. Qualified for the 2006 World Championships (Canada had qualified in 12 years - 1994)

* 2005 - 2nd Place Pac-10 Conference/2nd Round NCAA Tournament (lost to National Champions Baylor University)
